FROM THE PASTOR’S HEART:                                                                                                                                                                          March 3, 2024

The month of March will mark a new beginning for RSBC. Our new Pastor, Terry Larson will be coming and, sadly for me, I will be leaving. While it is a new beginning, in many ways it will be a continuation of what God has been doing here at Ruffin Stacey. I firmly believe that the Lord has been preparing us for this moment and that Terry is the man God will lead to take us into the future.

I’m sure Lance and Terry would agree that whatever success we have had or will have has been and will be the Lord using the many willing servants to accomplish His purpose. Joy and I have been so blessed to be with you these Eleven months. Your response to our ministry encourages us and causes us to be thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ. Terry and Donna are just the right people to enjoy serving at this great church.

I hope you will allow Terry to love and lead you to be all God wants you to be.

As for Joy and me, we are both happy and sad. Happy that you will have such Godly leadership but sad to be leaving you. Happy to know that the Lord’s will is being done but sad that our part in that is over. Happy that we will have some time off but sad that I will miss the thing (pastoring) that I love doing so much. Happy to be returning to our home church but sad that I won’t be seeing you all on a regular basis.

The joy for all of us is that God brings into our lives special people who make our walk with Him so wonderful. That means, however, saying goodbye sometimes. But it also means that we get to meet new special folks that will enrich and bless our lives. I know you will give Terry and Donna that same overwhelming welcome that you gave Joy and me.

Joy and I know that we are going away but not far and not forever. We still cherish the friendships we have. While I will no longer be your pastor, I will remain and always be you friend.

In the love of Christ,

Harry
