I hope you were able to join us last Sunday for Easter. It was a wonderful time of worship, but it was also a wonderful time to be together again as a church. Eat breakfast together. Sing together. Thank you to everyone who took part in celebrating the resurrection with us at Ruffin Stacey.
I have mentioned to several people that, while some of the days were long, the first part of 2021 has flown by. We are already a quarter of the way through the year, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. With the pace of life continuing to move faster and faster, I had a few thoughts about what this means for the church:
- It is vitally important that we remember to enjoy each other. The people that you see around you are not just your co-laborers in the work of serving the Kingdom of God. They are here to bring joy to your life. Be thankful for the people that God has put into your life and let them know how much you appreciate them.
- Be hopeful about the future. As I said last week, we are a people of hope. We have hope because of the work of Jesus Christ and nothing can take that away from us.
- Engage the community! Time passes quickly and there are people around us who need to hear about the love and peace of Jesus Christ. Don’t wait!
It is a blessing to serve with you,
Pastor Lance
