I want to thank everyone who has put so much hard work into ministering at Ruffin Stacey the last several months. When this past summer ended there was so much hope that this Fall would be a great time for our church. Then a new variant of COVID hit the states, and I witnessed some of that hope turn into cynicism and dread. However, Ruffin Stacey responded with faithfulness, and you have continued to minister to the community around you. I would like to share with you just a few things that people have mentioned to me over the past several months:

  • Multiple parents have expressed gratitude to the church for moving forward with in-person AWANAS.
  • Families have been very thankful for the support of their church family during times of bereavement.
  • The teachers at Lincoln Elementary School have expressed their appreciation for having Good News Club back on their campus this year.
  • The pandemic has allowed us to become more comfortable with using technology as a means to disciple and share the Gospel with others.
  • People have been willing to step out of their comfort zones and serve in ministries that they had not previously been serving in, all for the good of the local church and for the glory of God.
  • We returned to our yearly times of fellowship during our Community BBQ in October and our multiple gatherings during the Christmas Season.
  • We exceeded our church goal for our Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions and our Thanksgiving Offering for the Baptist Children's Home of NC.
  • Sunday School teachers have stepped up and have been willing to fill in and teach for co-teachers who are not able to come to church right now.
  • Dr. Harry Smith expressed his admiration for how worshipful the music was during the Sunday he preached for us.
  • In faith, we have not been forced to stop a single ministry of the church during these uncertain times.

This is because of each one of you…so thank you all!

It is a blessing to serve with you,

Pastor Lance
