Friends, I want to take the opportunity this month to thank you as a church for your service to the church. I was looking at the calendar for this month and I was reminded about each of the way that so many of you serve the Lord through our congregation. We have the weekly activities of AWANAS and Good News Club that would not be possible if the staff were the only ones participating. It takes each of you who donate your time to help these ministries flourish. February is also our month to host and serve through the Mobile Market at Lincoln Elementary School. Here we get to serve the community who may be in need of food and proper nutrition. This too would not be possible without the help of many volunteers.
Some in our church have been dealing with health issues, many for a long time. However, every time I talk with these individuals, they mention to me a visit that they have had or a card that they have received from someone in the church. This is a testimony to the love that you have for each other, and your willingness to care for each other when you are hurting. Perhaps it is because my own children are getting older, but I have been reminded lately just how short life is. We only have a few years to serve God before we meet Him and have that service judged. It is clear to me that so many within this church have made the conscious decision to use all the time that they have left to serve God. I thank you!
