From the Pastor’s Heart: January 1st, 2024
Joy and I are grateful for the time we’ve had together in 2023. We love you and are committed to being with you until the Lord tells us to move on. We are happy to be where God is doing wonderful things and where so many great people worship, serve, learn, and witness to the gospel.
2024 holds some amazing things for us all. We are beginning to see what can happen when believers focus on Jesus and his kingdom work. We all have the same goals; any differences lie in the method of reaching them. The differences can be overcome by the attitude of “In the essentials, unity; In the non-essentials diversity, and in all things, love.”
If I had a wish list for this new year, it would be for us to fill the worship center( which would mean people sitting where I can see them), more families joining Ruffin Stacey, many coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, enthusiastic worship, more people involved in our prayer ministry, and more and more folks coming to realize Christ for us, Christ in us, and Christ as us.
An interim time does not mean a church is in a holding pattern. A healthy church does not need a permanent pastor to have the Lord work among them. Never-the-less, we do pray that God will lead us to the one who will be the man of God, that can be pastor of this great church. In the meantime, Joy and I are with you and loving every moment of it.
May the Lord give you a wonderful Christ-led and Spirit-filled new year.
In the love of Christ,
Harry
