From The Pastor’s Heart, November 5th, 2023
Hopefully you have caught the emphasis of my preaching. Just in case you haven’t done so, below I am listing the theme of the sermons.
The theme is Jesus Christ. Romans 11:36.
The only thing that we can do to please Him is to have faith in Him. Hebrews 10:30, 11:6, Romans 1:5, 16:26, 14:23.
All the scriptures are about and point to Jesus. John 5:39, Luke 24:26&27.
God is love (1 John 1:5) and there is NOTHING that can separate a believer from that love. Romans 8:38,39.
All believers’ sins (past, present, and future) are eternally forgiven.
Hebrews 9:11,12,26.
Followers of Christ are new beings. ll Corinthians 5:17.
When Christ died on the cross, we died with Him. Galatians 2:20.
That means our old sinful nature has died and we now have the divine nature.
Romans 6:6-11, ll Peter 1:3,4.
We believers are meant to live by the Life of Christ. John 14:6, Colossians 3:4.
We are living under the New Covenant and the Old does not apply to us. Hebrews 8:13.
We have died to the law. ll Corinthians 3:6, Galatians 2:9, Romans 7:7.
The purpose of the law is to show us we can’t keep it. Galatians 3:24
Jesus is the fulfillment of the law (Matthew 5:7). He fulfills the law now through us. Colossians 1:27.
The gospel is the person of Jesus Christ and His life, death (for our sins) burial, resurrection (to give us life), and exaltation (He is Lord). As He lives in and through us by the Holy Spriit we are an expression of Him. John 15:5.
The Church is the Body of Christ and He is our Head. Colossians 1:18.
We are in Christ and therefore blessed that we may be a blessing to others.
Genesis 12:2, Ephesians 1:2-12.
In Christ Love,
Harry
